Is it Friday? Thinking…Why am I getting my weekly YB&D post? Ok, ok it is only Wednesday. I know, I wish it were Friday too. I wanted to give you enough time to dwell on this…dwell on what? Dwell on Design. I’m not asking you to sit and ponder on design just letting you know there is a design event happening this weekend, Friday June 25-27th, at the Los Angeles Convention Center Downtown. And it was my favorite show last year. Friday is the “to the trade” day for all you designers out there and Saturday and Sunday are open to the public with tickets. Lots of fun exhibitors showing everything from furniture and art to building systems and materials. The reason it was my favorite last year: GREEN, and tons of it!
Reclaimed Space again will be showcasing one of their modular homes. From the outside, these spaces look like nothing more than modern shacks; however, if you look below the surface, they boast some interesting earth saving ideas. The spaces are built with reclaimed and recycled materials, hence the name, are renewable energy ready, and, get this, are designed, built, and delivered – anywhere. Relocatable as well. Ecofabulous (I love this site) is also again doing the interiors and outfitting the little shack with energy efficient appliances from Electrolux and re-used furniture from Ebay. So, maybe now I really do have you dwelling on design.
